new reviews are up on the reviews page.

web subscriptions to the LCC mailing list are temporarily disabled because i just switched the site to a new server this weekend and i need to redo the script. should be back up in a couple of days. there have been some problems with people who had signed up for the newsletter not getting it. i think this was because of a problem with my old mail server (this is exciting isn't it) but everything should be fixed now. in the meantime if you want to sign up for the mailing list just shoot me an email and i'll take care of it.

next LCC show is thursday december 19. more details on the shows page.

Baboon is releasing a new CD entitled "Something Good Is Going To Happen To You" and they're having one of those now ubiquitous CD release parties at the Curtain Club next Thursday, October 31st (Halloween to the layman). It's now not really the big deal that it used to be for a band from around town to release a CD. Anytime I actually bother to look through the club listings I see a couple of bands hosting their very own CD release parties and thankfully I never have to hear most of those CD's. What is a big deal this time is how fucking good the new Baboon CD is. To be honest I have only heard about half of it but it is a major step forward for the band if the second half of the CD is even half as good as what I heard it will be amazing. Much more than just the glorious noise we have come to expect from them.

At any given point in local music history there have only been 3 or 4 bands that I thought were worth a shit and Baboon has been one of those bands for more than 10 years. 10 years! That they're still around after all this time is some kind of accomplishment I suppose. That they are now releasing the best work of their career is amazing and inspiring.

Now I would be mentioning this show whether or not LCC was on the bill but as it turns out we are. Baboon have been good friends to LCC for a while now and I am prideful and honorable that they are letting us play with them at this show.

alright...so we're back. let's see how it goes.

1)the website. though i will be adding different sections shortly (like mp3 downloads, press shit, pictures and all that) this is gonna remain a simple, lo-bandwidth site. no opening flash animation, no cutting edge design, no bulletin board (if you wanna talk about what reality show you're watching you're just gonna have to go to one of the cute bands sites). if you want LCC info this is the place.

2)the name. we're pretty much just going by LCC now. i got sick of typing out Legendary Crystal Chandelier all the time and everyone calls us LCC anyways.

3)the band. still need a piano player. guitar and tambourine ability as well would be nice. write me if you fit the bill.
